Dag_Dyrdal_portrettDag Dyrdal established Montalban in 2005. The firm is located in Oslo and deliver services to Norwegian and international clients.

Dag has extensive experience from different senior management and board positions in Norwegian and international businesses. He worked for Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), the manager of the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund, during 2009-2012. As Chief Strategic Relations Officer and member of the executive management team, he established the department for external relations and the communication strategy following the financial crisis. He was in charge of NBIM’s relations with governing bodies (central bank board and supervisory board) and with the Ministry of Finance as the owner of the fund. He was also responsible for government relations at home and abroad, peer funds and international networks, as well as fund reporting, media relations and internal communication.

Prior to NBIM, Dag co-founded and was the CEO of Commetric, an international, award-winning provider of media analysis using proprietary, patented technology. During the same period, he also co-founded Commeq, a research lab turned asset manager, based on behavioural finance driven trading strategies. He has experience from management consulting as managing director of ECON Management AS, with several large strategy projects. Dag started his career with Reuters as a financial journalist and editor, followed by senior management positions in the Nordic & Baltic unit.

Dag has been a speaker at many conferences, including Credit Suisse’s Asian Investment Conference 2016 (Hong Kong), 2015 annual meeting of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (Milan), SWF Institute Fund Summit 2015 (Amsterdam), 2014 (London) and 2013 (Dana Point, CA), International Pension Conference 2012 (Washington DC) and Columbia University Sovereign Wealth Fund Conference 2010 (New York). He is an Advisory Board member to the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, and a Senior Advisor for the Kazarian Center for Public Financial Management.
